In March 2006, Boston Properties will begin construction on the southwest surface parking lot. This construction will signal the beginning of final development of Phase II of Reston Town Center. The project, called South of Market, will ultimately consist of 850,000 square feet in four buildings-770,000 square feet of office and 80,000 square feet of retail. The development will also include an additional 2,400 parking spaces. The new complex will be comprised of two blocks, and will be bounded by Market Street to the north, Bluemont Way to the south, Library Street to the east and Explorer Street to the west. Boston Properties recently completed construction of a new 5-level, 400-space parking garage, located just footsteps away on Explorer Street between Freedom Drive and New Dominion Parkway, to help ease parking congestion during construction. |
